Simply put, Community Opportunity is a resource. It is a comprehensive website for students, job seekers, and area businesses alike to connect, network, and find/share internship and employment opportunities within our community. The goal of Community Opportunity is to ensure that everyone in our community is aware of the careers available. Our local companies are in need of our local talent, who all too often do not realize the great opportunity right here in our own backyard.
Business profiles are free for companies and organizations within Crawford and Wyandot counties. Businesses will be able to connect with local job seekers, post job openings, and increase their visibility and community engagement at no cost. It’s a win-win!
Local job seekers of all ages can also create free profiles. By creating a profile and uploading your resume, you’ll be connected to all participating local businesses. You can browse and apply for area jobs in one stop through Community Opportunity.
The REC at Crawford Commons
The REC at Crawford Commons is in Phase I of development. This recreation, event, and community center will bolster the the quality of life in Crawford County by significantly increasing tourism, wellness, and recreational and professional event opportunities. The site for the REC has been selected, including a land donation worth more than $800,000. The Partnership secured a USDA opportunity grant to provide for preliminary engineering, design, and environmental compliance. Phase II will encompass ownership determination and funding of the facility, including a capital campaign.
On March 30, 2018, Governor Kasich signed the state capital bill, which includes $500,000 for the REC at Crawford Commons. As defined in the Crawford: 20/20 Vision plan, the REC is one of the Partnership’s top strategic priorities. Our objective is this: “Create more activities for families and jobs for Crawford workers by developing an all-year sports complex near Route 30 to host sporting activities, classes, and other events to draw in regional revenue and tourism spending and promote county fitness.”
